This concrete quarter-pipe was the first of several collaborations between Downside DIY and East London Skateboard Club.

02 / The build

East London Skateboard Club is a community interest company that focuses on sharing skateboarding and ramp-building skills.

The concrete was poured in three sections, each 1.2m wide, with a transition radius of 2.3m.

03 / The name

The name came about after an abandoned portaloo at the DIY was tipped on its side during the build process, spilling contents into some of the building materials that were used to make the ramp.

A lot of blood, sweat and detritus went into creating this ramp, and it wouldn't have been possible without a huge team of volunteers and workshop participants.
